TUCSON, Arizona – the Muscular Dystrophy Association, said comedian Jerry Lewis is no longer serving as national President of the organization.

The 85-year old Lewis national Chairman of the MDA since the beginning of the 1950s.

In may, he announced that he was taking his retirement as host of the Telethon Association of muscular dystrophy of the feast of the work that has become synonymous with his name.

Lewis had said it was expected to make his last appearance on Telethon on September 4 this year.

But MDA President of the Commission r. Rodney Howell said Wednesday that Lewis “will be not be appearing on the Telethon.”

MDA based in Tucson, said Lewis “has completed its course” national President and will be replaced.

No there was no immediate explanation for shots and calls to non profit agency were not immediately returned Wednesday evening.
