BOSTON – A mother accused of son toddler in the mouth on a bus in the town of punching and shouting of expletives was surrounded by a “hostile crowd” of passengers until the arrival of the police, the authorities, said Wednesday. Erica Ryan pleaded not guilty Wednesday before the Court of District Roxbury, on a charge of assault on a child causing of injuries. Prosecutors have requested the release on bail set at $25,000; a judge has to bail of $500 and ordered Ryan to stay away from the child.
Transit police say Ryan 25-year-old son 1 years of punches and he called names for having refused to eat Tuesday on the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority bus. A “hostile” of passengers crowd surrounded him and would not let the bus until arrives it of the authorities, police said.
After the police arrived and separated Ryan from the crowd, she screamed, authorities “no one will take my baby!” said. Dried blood was around its mouth, police said.
Ryan denied intentionally hitting the boy, according to a police report. His lawyer, Miranda Adelio, did not return a telephone message Wednesday.
“I just wanted to feed my baby on crowded buses, then slipped my hand and I hit in the mouth,” Ryan said, according to the report.
However, three passengers of the bus told police that Ryan had been verbally abused the toddler with a series of vulgar expletives.
The boy was treated in a hospital and is now staying with his grandparents.
